CranialSacral Balancing Therapy is exceedingly gentle (no more than 5 grams of pressure) and addresses the core structure of the central nervous system by engaging the client in self-healing.  Most recipients of this therapy experience increased physical vitality and enhancement of their body's general well being.   Through the balancing of the cerebrospinal system, other physiological systems (immune, lymphatic, cardiovascular, endocrine, and muscular) show substantial improvements.

This subtle hands-on therapy accesses the oldest rhythm in the body: the cranialsacral rhythm.  That rhythm is the pulse of your energetic body and is deeply rooted in your past.  Through this technique, the deepest part of your inner being is touched and healing is allowed to occur on many levels.  The positive effect of this healing modality encourages the body's own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate the negative effects of trauma and stress.  The work not only effects structural change, but may increase physical vitality, enhance the body’s general well-being and increase resiliency.  Persons generally find CranialSacral Balancing Therapy helpful in the following situations:

  • Balancing and preparing mind-body-spirit for surgery

  • Recovering quicker and easier from surgery

  • Boosting immune system function

  • Reducing negative symptoms of stress

  • Enhancing physical and mental performance

  • Balancing emotions

  • Reducing the effects of birth trauma

  • Reducing the discomfort of chronic pain

  • Reducing the severity and frequency  of headaches

  • Supporting deep and restful sleep

  • Reducing the discomfort of TMJ dysfunction

  • Rebalancing the cranialsacral system after whiplash

CSBT Level I - Participants experience and practice a basic protocol along with gaining an understanding of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) system, its functions and how it relates to and affects the entire body.  Basic cranialsacral anatomy is covered. Participants develop their palpation and listening skills as they learn to read energy and follow and support the unwinding of the body’s natural healing pathways.  Participants leave the seminar with the resources to facilitate healing of the CSF system and correlated parts of the body.  Manual and other supplies are included in course fee.

Hydro ~ CranialSacral Balancing Therapy ~ Hydro (CSBT-Hydro) - Participants experience hydro-cranialsacral balancing therapy first hand and learn to facilitate another’s unwinding in the water. Experience the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) system, its functions, how it relates to and affects the entire body - allowing the body freedom of movement to release any stuck energies that may be the reason for discomfort. Energetic communication between the facilitator and the client allows them to become one with the movement of the water.

CSBT-Hydro further supports the client in unwinding and finding balance without the constraints imposed by gravity.  This therapy is especially popular in Arizona where many people have access to swimming pools.  This therapy can easily be done on an outcall basis or in recreational, educational or spa environments

CranialSacral Therapy Instructor - Marsha Craven, LMT, RMT, CCHt

For over 25 years, Marsha Craven has facilitated mind-body-spirit seminars. She is the originator of several energy based healing modalities that are amazingly effective.  Marsha is an inspired teacher and facilitator of the healing arts.  Her unique combination of extraordinary insight and innovation, compassion, humor, real life experience and fearless pursuit of excellence makes every moment of class time with Marsha a unique experience cherished by class participants.  Building on her innate gifts for healing, Marsha has studied and mastered many healing modalities over the last 40 years, incorporating only the most effective into her practice which includes private consultations, teaching and mentoring.  The modalities offered work with traditional allopathic healthcare to create an optimum healing environment.

For a three years period starting in 1978, Marsha had the privilege to work with two chiropractors, Dr. Thomas Faulkner, DC and Dr. Max Garten DO, DC in San Jose, CA. She was taught powerful techniques for working with the cranium, sacrum and vasomotor system, as well as the emotional aspects of the body. It is similar to what is called CranioSacral Therapy today. She has attended cranialsacral workshops from The Upledger Foundation, Shea Educational Group and Milne Institute. She has incorporated her training with years of experience to form her own style of working with and teaching this technique.
