Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a laying-on of hands natural healing technique thought to be thousands of years old. Originating in Tibet, it was rediscovered in Japan in the late 1800’s by Dr. Mikao Usui. It is very simple yet powerful healing art that can be used on your self as well as others and can easily be learned by anyone. Practitioners channel universal life force in a particular pattern to bring forth healing and harmony.
The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words - “rei,” meaning “Universal Spirit,” and “ki,“ meaning “life force energy.” The word Reiki, therefore, refers to a balanced cosmic and life force energy. Because of its qualities of universal energy, it seems to have a basic consciousness which, when used for healing, is able to provide exactly what is needed on all levels. Reiki treatments work by dissolving or eliminating toxic energy and substances from many levels of ones being whether it be physical, emotional, mental or beyond. Reiki helps to create a harmonious environment within ones being so true healing can take place.
Anyone can use Reiki to strengthen well-being, and it can be especially useful for people with pain, anxiety, insomnia, depression, fatigue syndromes or other chronic illness, or those undergoing surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or treatment for addictions. Reiki is also useful in first aid...email info@How2Heal.com for Reiki First Aid Suggestions.
Reiki therapy is safe and non-invasive. It is being used to facilitate relaxation and recovery, decrease anxiety and treat pain in hospices, nursing homes, emergency rooms, operating rooms, organ transplantation care units, pediatric, neonatal and OB/GYN units. Shelters (animal & human) are also places where Reiki is being used to benefit those being sheltered as well as staff who are there to assist.
Reiki can be used to help improve the whole family's experience through pregnancy, delivery, and post-partum. It has been shown to be useful in dealing with pain, including labor pains during delivery, can reduce stress and anxiety post-partum, and provides partners a tool to participate more fully through providing care for mom and baby. Reiki can be provided by mom herself, her partner, and by health care professionals. Email info@How2Heal.com for Reiki with Parents & Children.
- Reiki First Degree Reiki
is a safe, gentle healing practice that provides rapid stress reduction, is
easily learned and effective in self-treatment. Anyone can use Reiki to
strengthen well-being, and it can be especially useful for people with pain,
anxiety, insomnia, depression, fatigue syndromes or other chronic illness,
undergoing surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or treatment for addictions.
Participants receive First Degree attunements and learn to use energy healing with a tremendous ability to
balance the chakras, remove negative energy, relieve stress and heal the body
also receive the first Reiki symbol. Information on establishing a
daily personal practice is given and is essential in building a strong,
potent Reiki practice.
I Dates & Registration~ 10am-6pm
Reiki II - Reiki Second Degree New information and sacred symbols are presented and practiced. There is an emphasis on healing energy for the mental and emotional levels of one's being, often the true cause of dis-ease. The First degree energy is enhanced and amplified at least four times.
Reiki II builds on Reiki I as a safe, gentle healing practice that provides rapid stress reduction and a sense of well being to recipients. Additional information, attunements and symbols are imparted. Discussion includes using Reiki to support those experiencing pain, anxiety, insomnia, depression, fatigue syndromes or other chronic illness, or those undergoing surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or treatment for addictions. Participants discover and practice long distance applications of Reiki. Hands on practice provides more opportunities to build skills using Reiki as an integrative therapy.
Participants practice sending Reiki energy
over a distance. Basic instruction in working with animals is
Reiki III/Master - Reiki Third Degree Reiki Master Practitioner
- Participants receive two attunements and the sacred Usui master symbol associated with the spiritual
body. Instruction is focused on connecting with the Divine and integrating
all of the Reiki symbols to further intensify the healing process. Participants gain the confidence and experience to realize the full power of
a Usui Reiki Master for themselves. Participants also receive the
Tibetan Master Symbol and three of the Sai Baba symbols, also known as Karuna
symbols. They have an opportunity to begin their Reiki rock garden and
are shown how to activate their rocks. Participants depart class as
Reiki Masters (practitioners), prepared to share Reiki as
a form of energy and spiritual healing with the world.
Reiki brings people a tool to support body, mind, and spirit, regardless of health status. Reiki is completely safe and complements traditional and alternative healthcare practices to create an optimum healing environment. Reiki can be done in person or from a distance and can be used with humans, animals and plants.
Anyone can learn Reiki and can begin using it immediately in a Reiki I seminar. Additional symbols and practice, which make Reiki healing exponentially more powerful, are provided in Reiki II and Reiki III/Master.
Reiki can help people reduce pain, anxiety and depression and improve outcomes with other therapies that they are undergoing. For example, various experimental results show reduction in pain by newly trained HIV/AIDS patients providing a compelling argument for teaching Reiki to everyone who is diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Its efficacy with those experiencing chronic illness, cancer and other conditions is being revealed in additional studies being conducted around the world.
The value of Reiki comes from its ability to relieve suffering and promote healing regardless of the cause. Reiki is not limited in the way it is able to heal, and results are achieved even with illnesses and conditions that aren’t usually understood or helped with regular medical treatment.
Reiki is a complement to treatment by a physician. It does not provide services in lieu of a doctor, nor is it a medical diagnostic tool. We perceive that integrative medicine that takes advantage of all parts of the care spectrum as appropriate is much more effective (and cost-effective) than allopathic treatment alone.

Various research studies that show Reiki helps by reducing anxiety and stress and initiating the relaxation response.
