Reiki Seminars

Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a laying-on of hands natural healing technique thought to be thousands of years old. Originating in Tibet, it was rediscovered in Japan in the late 1800’s by Dr. Mikao Usui. It is very simple yet powerful healing art that can be used on your self as well as others and can easily be learned by anyone. Practitioners channel universal life force in a particular pattern to bring forth healing and harmony.

The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words - “rei,” meaning “Universal Spirit,” and “ki,“ meaning “life force energy.” The word Reiki, therefore, refers to a balanced cosmic and life force energy. Because of its qualities of universal energy, it seems to have a basic consciousness which, when used for healing, is able to provide exactly what is needed on all levels. Reiki treatments work by dissolving or eliminating toxic energy and substances from many levels of ones being whether it be physical, emotional, mental or beyond. Reiki helps to create a harmonious environment within ones being so true healing can take place.

Anyone can use Reiki to strengthen well-being, and it can be especially useful for people with pain, anxiety, insomnia, depression, fatigue syndromes or other chronic illness, or those undergoing surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or treatment for addictions. Reiki is also useful in first aid...email info@How2Heal.com for Reiki First Aid Suggestions.

Reiki therapy is safe and non-invasive. It is being used to facilitate relaxation and recovery, decrease anxiety and treat pain in hospices, nursing homes, emergency rooms, operating rooms, organ transplantation care units, pediatric, neonatal and OB/GYN units. Shelters (animal & human) are also places where Reiki is being used to benefit those being sheltered as well as staff who are there to assist.

Reiki can be used to help improve the whole family's experience through pregnancy, delivery, and post-partum. It has been shown to be useful in dealing with pain, including labor pains during delivery, can reduce stress and anxiety post-partum, and provides partners a tool to participate more fully through providing care for mom and baby. Reiki can be provided by mom herself, her partner, and by health care professionals. Email info@How2Heal.com for Reiki with Parents & Children.

Reiki I  LIVE COURSE  Subject matter: Reiki background and First level Reiki protocols for massage/bodywork

Reiki is a complementary healing practice based on an ancient healing art best known for providing a feeling of deep peace and relaxation.  During difficult times, Reiki offers soothing comfort and facilitates a more peaceful state of mind.  Reiki can be especially useful for people with pain, anxiety, insomnia, depression, fatigue syndromes or other chronic illness, or those undergoing surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or treatment for addictions.  As a complementary healing practice, Reiki has been found to increase the efficacy of health and wellness therapies and to speed healing after surgery.

Reiki is a safe, gentle healing practice that is easily learned and effective in self-treatment as well as with others.  Protocols for using Reiki on self as well as others are discussed, demonstrated and practiced in the class.  Information on establishing a daily personal practice is given and the importance of establishing a foundation to support the practitioner is stressed.

Participants receive First Degree attunements and learn to create a state of equilibrium to promote relaxation, relieve stress, neutralize negative energy, balance body systems and strengthen overall well-being.

Participants receive and learn to work with one Reiki symbol.  Facilitation in a variety of circumstances, including working with special populations and people with various health challenges is discussed, demonstrated and practiced by the participants.

Participants completing Reiki I are prepared to begin using Reiki for self-care as well as in their life’s work.   Those in the healthcare professions, including massage therapists and body workers, are prepared to use Reiki to complement their therapeutic practices.

Reiki brings people a tool to support body, mind, and spirit, regardless of health status. Reiki is completely safe and complements traditional and alternative healthcare practices to create an optimum healing environment. Reiki can be done in person or from a distance and can be used with humans, animals and plants.

Anyone can learn Reiki and can begin using it immediately in a Reiki I seminar. Additional symbols and practice, which make Reiki healing exponentially more powerful, are provided in Reiki II and Reiki III/Master.

Reiki can help people reduce pain, anxiety and depression and improve outcomes with other therapies that they are undergoing. For example, various experimental results show reduction in pain by newly trained HIV/AIDS patients providing a compelling argument for teaching Reiki to everyone who is diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Its efficacy with those experiencing chronic illness, cancer and other conditions is being revealed in additional studies being conducted around the world.

The value of Reiki comes from its ability to relieve suffering and promote healing regardless of the cause. Reiki is not limited in the way it is able to heal, and results are achieved even with illnesses and conditions that aren’t usually understood or helped with regular medical treatment.

Integration of Reiki as a complementary therapy discussed by nationally acclaimed surgeon, author & speaker, Beth DuPree, M.D., F.A.C.S.:

"We are clearly in a time of change, and the integration of complementary therapies is becoming more widely seen in standard medical practices.

It is very important to be a partner with your health care provider so there are no secrets about what therapy, supplements, herbal remedies, or other therapies you are seeking or participating in.

Many physicians are beginning to be much more open-minded about the role the complementary therapies play in the healing processes of patients and by physicians and patients partnering in this way. Take for example our new facility which will open in a few weeks, where our holistic spa is the same square-footage as our operating rooms.

As a surgeon trained in Western medicine, I have learned to embrace the importance of healing modalities and have become a Reiki master practitioner myself in order to help my patients before, during, and after their surgical treatments. This is certainly not the norm, but more and more physicians are becoming open and inquiring about how they too can incorporate these aspects into their practices." http://www.thehealingconsciousness.com/

Reiki is a complement to treatment by a physician. It does not provide services in lieu of a doctor, nor is it a medical diagnostic tool. We perceive that integrative medicine that takes advantage of all parts of the care spectrum as appropriate is much more effective (and cost-effective) than allopathic treatment alone.
